About

I am a hypnosis practitioner that has been working in the field for over ten years. I received my MFA from The University of Chicago, where my research examined the role of hypnosis in art making and creative practice. At The University of Chicago, I was awarded the Arts + Sciences Graduate Fellowship, through witch I was able to work with researchers across the university examining hypnotic phenomena in faith practice. I have had the pleasure of sharing my work on hypnosis and creative practice at conferences around the world. I am a former visiting professor at Jain University (Bangalore, India), where I taught classes on communication theory. I am also a former national fencing champion (saber), and love working with athletes on confidence and performance.

I am forever fascinated with the mind and how it shapes our realities. The mind is so incredibly strong, yet endlessly flexible. It allows us to make profound changes in our lives and cement them as long term habits. Unchecked, those habits can make our lives feel uncomfortable and unbalanced. Using a process like hypnosis, we can utilize the flexibility and strength of the mind. We can make powerful lasting change that has positive ripple effects across our entire being.

I am continually inspired by my clients and the change they are able to bring to their lives. If you are ready for change, this is the time. Our work together starts when you decide it is time for change.

Outside of the hypnosis office, I am a fiber and installation artist that uses hypnosis to build works that live inside the body. You can learn more about my hypnosis/artwork here: www.jacobpet.com.
